Meeting Report Monday 11th November 2019 - Meeting 3018
Group 9 District Governor Visit, Vine Inn, Nuriootpa

The Rotary Club of Barossa District hosted the combined Group 9 visit by District Governor Jane Owens.  61 people attended representing  all Group 9 clubs were present.  DG Jane was accompanied by her husband David Owens and several Rotarians brought guests with them.  Assistant Governor Marie-louise Lees introduced Rob Eley who conducted a remembrance day commemoration.  Rob was assisted by Michael Jacob to ensure seamless operation of the IT.  The Club Presidents opened their respective meetings.  President Brian Barnett proposed the toast.

AG Marie-louise introduced DG Jane who spoke of her life through the connections and roles she has to the people in her life.  DG Jane spoke of her passion for community and for Rotary.

Gavin Sidhu provided an update on the Group 9 Uganda Dental Project.  The partner Rotary club in Uganda is completing the needs assessment required for the Global Grant and it is hoped this will be completed by the end of this month and then the Global Grant Application can be progressed.  Funds of A$22000 are in hand for the project and a District 9500 RAWCS project (18-2019-20 Uganda School & Community Dental) has been set up so individuals can make tax deductible donations to the project.

After some fellowship time all Club Presidents closed their meetings.  Thanks to RC Barossa District for hosting the event.
