Assemble Birthing Kits
Around 300 000 women and 3 million newborns die each year from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Most of these deaths occur in developing countries. To help address this the ‘Birthing Kit Foundation’ provides opportunities for Australian volunteers to engage in the assembly of Birthing Kits. The kits enable vulnerable women access to a clean and safer birthing environment.

Around 300 000 women and 3 million newborns die each year from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth. Most of these deaths occur in developing countries. To help address this the ‘Birthing Kit Foundation’ provides opportunities for Australian volunteers to engage in the assembly of Birthing Kits. The kits enable vulnerable women access to a clean and safer birthing environment.
With the kind support of Taylor and Forgie Funeral Directors, the Rotary Club of Gawler has purchased 200 Birthing Kits (un-assembled).
Sandy Morey from the Zonta Club of Gawler is organising the kit assembly process. We invite you to work with us to put together the kits, at the above address. We will begin the kit assembly around 7pm.
If you would like to attend this evening, there are two options:
- Arrive at 6:00pm for a 6:30 meal and then begin kit assembly around 7pm. Visitors to pay $20 for the meal. Bar facilities available from 6-6:30pm.
- Arrive around 7pm for kit assembly (if not requiring a meal)
When we have completed the kits, there will be tea/coffee and a light supper provided.

Ensure that you advise us if you are/are not requiring a meal and also your name and contact number.
