From Editor: I am sorry but due to personal commitments I have been unable to complete the bulletin each week so here is a quick summary of the past month.

The past month has been a busy one for members of the Rotary Club of Gawler.

We have had a combined meeting with Gawler Light, had members of Murray Bridge visit to listen to guest speaker Erfan Abidi, Listened to our own Past Pres Steve Barilla speak about his journey to change his land from Olive Grove to Olivewood estate, and we hosted guest speakers Megan Graham -Shelterbox and KC  Stephen Pallaras.

Members have also been busy outside the meeting nights with Mike and Deb Williams and Angela attending the successful Rotary Impact summit at Morphettville Racecourse and Pres elect Kyle attending a weekend training for his upcoming role accompanied by Secretary Michael.   Behind the scenes a small team have been working hard to complete the BBQ trailer and it is looking fabulous (reveal photo's coming very soon!). Work has begun on cleaning and sorting out the Shed. Lots of equipment has been sorted and will be either repurposed, donated or discarded so we have room to store everything where it can be accessed easily. A catalogue is also being updated for items which can be hired out.

Plans are being finalised for our changeover dinner on Monday 30th June if you haven't got your tickets yet get in soon!.

From the latest Interplast newsletter Rotarians go the extra mile for Interplast

Interplast has been incredibly fortunate to have been chosen as the Partner Project of the inspirational and dynamic Carol O’Connell. Travelling thousands of kilometres with her partner, District 9790 Governor Stephen O’Connell, Carol has mobilised the sprawling and diverse Rotary District, which stretches from the north of Melbourne to southern New South Wales. This year, she has shared the Interplast story with hundreds of Rotarians and raised over $24,000 for Interplast programs!

Carol was able to meet Interplast volunteer surgeon, David Morgan, at the District conference in Albury earlier this month. There, David delivered a powerful keynote speech and joined Carol on one of the final objectives of her project — to walk 979kms over the year.

The passion and commitment of Carol, David and the Rotarians of District 9790 have been inspirational, and the results have wildly exceeded even Carol’s expectations.
