Report on Meeting 3036 - August 3rd
There were 28 members in attendance with apologies from: Kevin Clarke, Lance Hatcher, Patsy Johnson and Julie Tekell. Angela Moore proposed the loyal toast and President Mark said grace.
Rotary spots were presented by:
- PP Steve Barilla reporting on his attending Gawler Light’s change-over dinner where our former club member Dick Milner was recirculated as President;
- Colin Bazeley mentioning that running of the Village Fair had yet to be confirmed.
- Almoner Mike Williams said that Honorary Member Dean Sims had returned home from a spell in hospital,
- Treasurer Kim Potger gave a break-down of club fees for the coming year, and
- Leanne Clinch spruiked on RDU Rotary clothing items that could be obtained at less expense through Im-Press Promotions at Gawler Green.
Sgt. Barry hid behind his Fu-Manchu facial fungus whilst
conducting the fines session.
The club received a Certificate of Appreciation from UCare for food donations earlier in the COVID19 crisis.
A birthday card for a recent exchange student from Italy, Sara Di Lauro was circulated for well-wishes remarks and signatures.
Eldercare Nursing Home at Evanston will hold a Staff Appreciation Day on 6th August and PP Dr. Bruce will present the cheque for a Club gift of $300.
PRESIDENT’S SESSION - PROJECTS & FUNDRAISING, etc.
President Mark gave a PowerPoint presentation explaining the new Attendance & Meals email form to be introduced to assist with weekly meeting arrangements. He also alluded to weekly meetings being affected by possible changes in COVID19 restrictions.
A vigorous discussion followed on potential fundraising schemes, including possible assistance to Kangaroo Island areas recovering from bushfires.
