Last week’s meeting had a great turnout with all members in attendance apart from Julie Tekell who is currently interstate. It was also great to see long-standing member Bob Ahola attended the meeting and enjoyed some great fellowship with the other members.
I would like to thank Brian Burt for organising the Membership night and also thank our members who spoke about both their experiences and the great things Rotary can offer. An even bigger thanks goes to all the members who were able to bring along guests who hopefully will one day become part of our club or support us with future Rotary projects.
Also to our Sergeant at Arms another outstanding Sergeant session with many laughs had by all.
Quote of the week
You are never too young to lead, nor too old to act.
And should never doubt your capacity to triumph where others have not.
Membership Night was chaired by Brian Burt with an attendance comprising 32 members and 7 guests, including Honorary member Bob Ahola and daughter Judy. The loyal toast was proposed by Ian Sanders and invocation was said by President Mark.
Rotary spots were:

PP Steve Barilla confirmed that Bob Hinderwell and he had received Covid Marshall training and were now qualified to supervise Rotary events.
PP Colin Bazeley reported that the Gawler Council had cancelled the Village Fair had been cancelled due to Covid restrictions, and grants were being arranged to help compensate community groups for missing out on fund-raising opportunities.
The programme for the meeting comprised a variety of speakers recounting their experiences with overseas Rotary ventures.

Wayne Murphy described the enjoyment of Rotary Friendship Exchange where Rotarians can host and stay with other Rotarian families from across the world.
In 1994, Dino Donati went on a Group Study Exchange with Rotary District 450. It involved a group of four representing their professions hosted by 6 families in northern Wales and nearby England. Opportunities were taken to visit workplaces and factories of interest.
