HAPPY NEW YEAR
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM LEANNE CLINCH
I just wanted to let everyone know I've been informed all members/guests/visitors/etc... need to be double vaccinated going forward for all meetings as directed by Nixon's Function Centre.
Members/guests/visitors will be required to display their vaccination status to the club.
Additionally, the same rule applies for the Gawler Bowling Club the following week as they have adopted Bowls SA directive for their social events in addition to their competitions. In this instance, the club will be completing the declaration on behalf of members.

Meeting Report
Happy New Year everyone and welcome back to another Rotary year.
Meeting 3099 was the last meeting of 2021 and was our Christmas meeting. Chairperson PP Brian Burt opened the meeting and pointed out that the evening was a wonderful opportunity for Rotarians and guests to come together and celebrate and socialise over a wonderful meal and be entertained. It was also a time to remember those who are struggling at Christmas (and through the year) and consider what we can do to help.
The Toast was given by Angela Moore and Rotary Grace by Trish Williams.
The dinner was attended by 85 people including Gawler Mayor Karen Redman and Terry Redman, and Major Darren Cox from the salvation Army who gave the Christmas message and also accepted a large donation of Christmas gifts donated by members and guests. Barossa Valley magician Darren Schutz once again entertained everyone with his sleight of hand and mind challenging tricks. He was ably assisted by members of the audience who were clearly baffled by the tricks. Other special guests included representatives from: Gawler Council Henry Inat; Zonta Pam Young Valerie Mew Janet Ahrens; Willos Men’s shed David Clarke Bill Tidswell; CFS Tony Clark plus many members’ family and friends. President mark gave a warm welcome and opening address prior to dinner being served.
Barry Stewart presented a brief Sergents session and invited people to let us know what Christmas means to them.
Following the dinner and magic show, Peter Nettelbeck once again acted as auctioneer to raise $2340 to be used to support Rotary Projects.
At the conclusion of the evening President Mark thanked President Elect Kathy and her committee for all the work that went into a fabulous and successful evening. Mark also took the opportunity to farewell Amy from Nixon’s. Amy has looked after Gawler Rotarians since the move to Nixon’s. She will begin her Nursing career early in the new year and we wish her well.
Before officially closing the meeting with the Four Way Test, Mark wished everyone a safe and happy Christmas.
