Guests Grace Barilla – guest of Steve, Peter Heinrich – guest of Kathy

Notes from members and directors:
PP Steve: during the week our place turned into a production line when Grace made breadcrumbs from the left-over rolls from the airshow. First, they were cut and baked, then processed into crumbs and baked again on trays before being weighed and bagged ready for sale. Please purchase them tonight and they can be frozen for 3 months.
Deb Williams following on from Steve, Deb made tomato relish from the left-over tomatoes, Jars of yummy relish available tonight.
Tom Kelly- shared photos and a recount of his recent flood recover work with the SES in Innamincka. The group were there Sunday to Thursday and built a double wall then filled the gap with sandbags to protect the town. This was the same structure which they used in the last floods at Mannum.
Throughout the night Pres Anthony had fun issuing fines to kick of our relaunch of the fines collection. Look out-no-one is safe!

Chair Lance suggested everyone enjoy some fellowship over dinner before welcoming PP Barry for his sergeants session.
Barry started his session by playing a song which was written and performed by a friend. This song had personal meaning to Barry and his struggle when he left the Army.
Wheel winners this week were Deb W, Kathy and Patsy after Angela jumped the gun and claimed the prize before the wheel had stopped fully.

Lance thanked Barry and asked pres. Anthony to close the meeting.
Anthony reminded members that there would be no meeting next week 21st April due to public holiday. We will be serving supper to Cadets at the Vigil on the 24th April and asked for volunteers. He will be in touch with those members to confirm times next week. Anthony then thanked Barry for another wonderful sergeant’s session and for members participation in the fines.
He then closed the meeting with the four way test and invited members to stay and chat over dessert due to early finish.

From the latest Interplast newsletter Rotarians go the extra mile for Interplast

Interplast has been incredibly fortunate to have been chosen as the Partner Project of the inspirational and dynamic Carol O’Connell. Travelling thousands of kilometres with her partner, District 9790 Governor Stephen O’Connell, Carol has mobilised the sprawling and diverse Rotary District, which stretches from the north of Melbourne to southern New South Wales. This year, she has shared the Interplast story with hundreds of Rotarians and raised over $24,000 for Interplast programs!

Carol was able to meet Interplast volunteer surgeon, David Morgan, at the District conference in Albury earlier this month. There, David delivered a powerful keynote speech and joined Carol on one of the final objectives of her project — to walk 979kms over the year.

The passion and commitment of Carol, David and the Rotarians of District 9790 have been inspirational, and the results have wildly exceeded even Carol’s expectations.
