Dear Rotarians

In the coming weeks we have many fundraising events so if you have any time to assist please contact Steve Barilla as the more members we can get the less time we need to commit when we all have families and busy life’s.

A special thanks to everyone who was able to help with the Black Dog Breakfast and to those who have signed up to assist with future events over the next months your time and support to the Club is much appreciated.

Enjoy your week and looking forward to seeing you at next weeks Club meeting.

Meeting Report

Meeting 3108 Monday 21st March 2022 the toast was given by Kathy Heinrich and grace read by Mark Smeaton
Meeting 3106 was officially opened by chairperson Anthony Barilla
Anthony welcomed members and special guests Sally Richardson-Guest of Deb and Mike Williams. Barry Stewart’s wife Carol.
Dinner meeting 3108 was a shortened meeting due to the vocational visit to the Gawler air field to inspect the new facilities at the CFS air operations base.
Apologies were received from: Bob Ahrens Patsy Johnson, Kevin Clarke and John Lyons.
Anthony asked directors to come forward with any messages.
President Mark reported that Patsy is recovering well just very tired particularly in the evenings so it will be a while before we see her at Rotary.
PP Steve Barilla thanked everyone for helping out at the Black Dog ride breakfast on the weekend. Although we didn’t make any money we provided a service to the community and that is what Rotary is about. It was a great day with lots of opportunity for fellowship while we were there.
Steve also asked for more volunteers for the events over the next couple of weeks. He said it was unfortunate that so many events were close together but if we spread the load it is manageable.
During sergeant Barry’s session the wheelspin winners were Kathy Heinrich – who chose the glass tankard and then at the suggestion from members received a second one so she had a pair! Trish Williams won the chocolates.
Barry then presented the Bunyip roundup from the past couple of weeks. In his wrap-up President Mark happily reported that the last of the TVs for GHS had been picked up and just waiting for the plaques to be attached and should be delivered to the hospital during the next week or so. That will be 50 TVs in total supplied so every room has had a new TV installed.
He again thanked everyone for the volunteer efforts over the next couple of weeks.
Next week’s guest speaker is plumber Derek Winterbottom “around the bend”; April 4th is the Sheoak Log Museum tour and BBQ and 11th April will be PP Brian Burt talking about his life since retirement.
After the Four Way Test members and guests headed off to the Airfield for a tour of the CFS Air Operations base so we can see the results of our donations.
