In addition President Angela, Treasurer Kathy Heinrich and secretary Michael Jacob will assist committees in relation to their roles as well as their job specific portfolios.

From the President

Firstly my apologies for the lack of a Bulletin last week. Due to other commitments I simply did not have the time to write one. Meeting 3308 was a committee night and appeared to be very productive. Due to a number of directors on leave some committees took the opportunity to come together to share ideas.

Meeting 3309 was held at Salvation Army Gawler due to Nixon's not being able to accommodate us. While it was a small gathering everyone agreed it was a fun night with some people showing their competitive side during some great trivia and brain teasers. The food was expertly organised by Kathy and assisted by Leanne to ensure everyone had enough to eat. Mark Forgie generously donated dessert which we almost forgot to eat because everyone was engrossed in the games!

Every person there agreed that it was something we should run again soon so watch the calendar!

The carparking for the Gawler show was a very successful fundraiser for Both Rotary Clubs of Gawler and the Gawler Girl Guides with $14,500 being raised to be divided equally between the 3 groups.  This shows what can be done when groups work together.

This weekend groups will gather together for the Gawler Swap Meet. Although each club will be raising their own funds, the 2 Rotary Clubs will support each other sharing equipment etc as needed.

This weeks Guest speaker is Teresa Evans from the Rotary Club of Modbury Golden Grove  who is talking about the development of an app which is being developed to assist first responders with their safety and protection at the scene of an incident and to promote ethical animal welfare outcomes.

When we meet at NIxon's, members and guests are required to pay Nixon's directly for their meal. This must be done by card prior to 6:30. Bob and Geoff will still look forward to seeing you at the attendance table to purchase your washers by cash or card and also to select your table number.

Have you bought your tickets yet??

Remember you can help the club by supporting us in the current People First Lottery. Below you will find the flyer with our unique QR code. Please  follow this link to buy tickets remembering that every $2 ticket you buy and nominate the Rotary Club of Gawler we receive the full $2. There are some great prizes so jump online and grab some while you are thinking about it! (tickets are only available online and with a debit card).

You can also help raise funds by downloading the Drakes App and selecting Rotary Club of Gawler as your preferred charity. If you still have one of the old key rings they are still accepted. You are spending money anyway so its a great way to help without costing you any extra.

Yours in Rotary Angela Moore
