Rotary Club of Gawler March 1915 report
Although we have slowed down and had a chance to take a breath in the last few weeks we have not been idle.
During February we have enjoyed several guest speakers, a visit to the Salvation Army in Gawler and a visit to Knights Roses.
The visit to the Salvation Army was to unveil the new cool room which our club was able to contribute towards the purchase and installation of. The larger cool room will increase the output of meals to those in the Gawler community. To officially open the cool room President Kyle Smith and past President John Lyons were present to cut the ribbon but a huge shout out goes to past president Mark Smeaton for all his work and dedication to the project from start to finish.
Knights Roses was a wonderful evening with a BBQ tea using our trailer and a very enlightening talk about the history of Knights in Gawler.
Members have travelled to the Rotary District Impact Summit and we look for forward to hearing about the adventure in upcoming weeks.
Service wise we have assisted Gawler’s Relay for Life by supplying, erecting and dismantling marquees and this year stepped in to assist with catering dinner Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning.
As a club we were also saddened to learn of Judy Nettlebeck’s passing and send our thoughts to Peter and family.
